Three people of a family have died in Kerala's coastal city Kozhikode over the last two weeks, reportedly due to a rare virus known as 'Nipah'. Deaths due to the dangerous virus has put the state health department on high alert. State Health Minister KK Shylaja said on Sunday that the nature of the virus was yet to be ascertained.
Rajnath for inclusion of martyrs' biographies in syllabus

China launches satellite to explore Moon's far side

China launched a relay satellite on Monday to set up a communication link between Earth and the planned Chang'e-4 lunar probe that will explore the mysterious far side of Moon, which can not be seen from the Earth. The satellite, named Queqiao(Magpie Bridge), was carried by a Long March-4C rocket that blasted from China's Xichang Satellite Launch Center, according to the CNSA, source reported.
Cuba identifies 20 victims of last Friday's plane crash

Twenty of 110 victims of last Friday's fatal plane crash in Cuba have been identified and the bodies were sent to their families for burial, an official said. Sergio Rabel, director of Havana's Legal Medicine Institute, told reporters that a large group of experts were working round the clock to conclude the complex process of identifying the remains, Xinhua news agency reported.
UAE banks get go-ahead to share Winsome information with India

In a rare move, the UAE has given its banks go-ahead to share information with India related to Winsome Group the diamond house which is Indias second-largest wilful defaulter after Vijay Mallyas Kingfisher Airlines. About a week ago, the Central Bank of UAE, the countrys banking regulator and monetary authority, communicated its decision to banks, an official of the British bank Standard Chartered told.

280 People Fall Ill After Drinking Contaminated Water In MP

Around 280 people have taken ill after drinking contaminated water in some parts of Sarni city in Madhya Pradesh's Betul district, a local health official said. He added that no one among them was critically ill. He informed that water was supplied to the affected areas by the Sarni municipality, while storage tanks in some of the areas was maintained by Western Coalfields Limited.

Thanks to the UAE governments new system, criminals from the city who flee and hide in the emirate can no longer find a legal job there. Those coming for work must obtain a good conduct and behaviour certificate from their home country. The rule was implemented in February and the special branch authorities are receiving requests to issue the certificate.

Two arrested for alleged GST fraud, tax evasion

The Goods and Services Tax (GST) department on Saturday arrested two persons for allegedly duping the exchequer of Rs 127 crore by issuing fake GST invoices and not paying the service tax. Amit Upadhyay (40) and Asad Anwar Sayed (42) were sent in judicial custody for 15 days by a local court, a GST official said.
