
Petrol, diesel to be dearer in Karnataka after govt proposes tax hike

The Karnataka government proposed to increase rate of tax on petrol and diesel by 3% which would make the fuel dearer by Rs.1.60 and Rs.1.59/liter, respectively. Presenting the 2020-21 budget in the Legislative-Assembly, CM B S Yediyurappa proposed to increase the rate of tax on petrol from 32% to 35% and diesel from 21% to 24%, as part of additional resource mobilization measures.
