Railways aims to save Rs 41K-cr on energy consumption expenses

Indian Railways aims to save Rs. 41,000 crore on energy consumption expenses by switching over to use of solar energy over next ten years. The Ministry of Railways has prepared 'Mission 41K’ to save electricity consumption charges, according to Suresh Prabhu, Minister for Railways, Government of India. Efforts were also on to mop-up Rs. 17,000 crore through non-fare revenue modes, he added.
