
Violent protests erupt around U.S. Embassy in Baghdad after U.S. air strikes

Militiamen and their supporters protesting against deadly U.S. air-strikes on Iraq hurled stones and torched a security post at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad in an unprecedented attack on an American diplomatic mission in the country. Embassy guards responded with stun grenades and tear gas after the attackers stormed and burned the security post at the entrance but did not breach the main compound.
