PhonePe gets Rs. 452 crore funding from Flipkart

Online retailer Flipkart has infused about Rs. 452 crore into its payments arm PhonePe Pvt. Ltd, a time when the UPI-based platform is expanding aggressively to take on SoftBank-backed rival payments start-up Paytm. In October last year, Flipkart had said it would invest Rs. 3,500 crore to expand PhonePe. Last week, PhonePe claimed top spot on UPI network, leaving Paytm and Google Tez behind.

E-transaction rip-off value up by over 350%

Amid the big push towards digital transaction ever since demonetisation happened, it would be sobering to note that the case count of e-transaction frauds involving more than Rs 1 lakh jumped by over 100% and the value of the loss by over 350% in just two years. Most of cases were registered in a few states like Maharashtra, Haryana, Delhi, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Reliance Jio, SBI tie up for digital banking service

Reliance Jio and SBI, have tied up with to provide a platform offering digital banking, commerce, and financial services to customers. YONO's digital banking features and solutions will be enabled through the MyJio app, and Jio Prime will offer exclusive deals from Reliance Retail and Reliance Jio. Additionally, "Jio Phones will be available on special offers for SBI customers," said SBI in press statement.
