Yes Bank Ltd aims to raise up to $2 billion in a massive issue of new shares to institutional investors and wealth managers as it soaks up the impact of bad loans in the country's crisis-hit shadow banking and real estate sectors. Banking analysts say most of the funds raised by Yes Bank will be used to provide for bad loans.

India's state-run airline will have to cease operations if it is not privatised, the country's junior minister for civil aviation said in parliament on Wednesday, in response to a lawmaker's question on the subject. A group of officials, including India's home and finance ministers, is finalising the process of inviting bids from the private sector for the loss-making national carrier.

Amazon.com Inc said it has introduced an ad-supported free version of its music streaming service Amazon Music, taking on rival Spotify Technology which has nearly 140 million users for its free version. Amazon offers paid plans for its music service starting at $9.99 per month and it is also part of its prime bundle.

India's antitrust body has sought more information from Amazon.com Inc about its planned acquisition of a stake in India's Future Retail, sources with knowledge of the matter told Reuters, which could potentially delay the deal. Amazon and Future-Retail declined to comment for the story. A source at Future-group said it had recently answered the CCI's questions related to the deal, but did not elaborate.

Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) has invested around 45 billion rupees ($634.20 million) into its Indian subsidiaries as the Seattle-based e-commerce giant ramps up operations in one of its fastest-growing markets. Documents filed with the Registrar of Companies showed that Amazon had pumped the money into its retail, food and payments units. The company did not immediately clarify where or how the money would be used.

Microsoft Corp said it has nominated GlaxoSmithKline Plc Chief Executive Officer Emma Walmsley to its board of directors. The software company said former-chairman of the board of management at BMW AG, Helmut Panke, will not seek a re-election to the board after his current term expires. Charles Noski, former vice chairman of AT&T Inc and Bank of America Corp, is also leaving the board.

Iran has warned U.S. President Donald Trump against being dragged into a war in the Middle East and said it would meet any offensive action with a crushing response. German automakers BMW and Mercedes-parent Daimler have revealed they will invest over 1 billion in a new ride-hailing joint venture to compete with existing rivals like Uber. The venture is estimated to become the world's largest car-sharing operator after the automakers merge their existing car-sharing schemes, DriveNow and Car2Go. It will also offer services like parking and electric car charging.

China's e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Ltd has raised its stake in top domestic investment bank China International Capital Corp's Hong Kong-listed shares to nearly 12%, an exchange disclosure showed on February-18. The internet giant bought 117 million CICC H-shares as those listed in Hong Kong are known at an-average-price of HK$15.50. After the investment, Alibaba holds a 4.84% stake in CICC's total equity.
