After grilling former CEO and MD of ICICI Bank Chanda Kochhar on Friday, investigative-agency ED summoned the top-banker at its Mumbai office on Saturday. Along with Chanda Kochhar, ED also quizzed her husband Deepak Kochhar and Videocon Group chief Venugopal Dhoot today in relation to ICICI Bank-Videocon loan case. During the raids conducted by CBI last-month, several-documents related to investigation of case were seized.

Hours after the Enforcement Directorate questioned former ICICI Bank chief executive Chanda Kochhar till 4 am this morning in a loan case, she was back at the probe agency's office at noon today. She left half-an-hour later. Her husband Deepak Kochhar and Videocon managing director Venugopal Dhoot are still at the Enforcement Directorate's office, sources said.

The homes and offices of former ICICI Bank chief executive Chanda Kochhar and Videocon managing director Venugopal Dhoot were searched by ED in a-loan-case. The CBI has already issued a-look-out circular against Ms Kochhar and has revived ones against her husband Deepak Kochhar and Mr Dhoot. Look-out circulars are notices sent to transit-points like airports to restrict the movement-of-people under investigation by probe agencies.

The government is not considering any other merger proposal in public sector banks at the moment as it would wait for completion of the amalgamation of Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank with Bank of Baroda (BoB), official sources said. The Union Cabinet last month approved the merger of these three-banks to create the country's third-largest lender. The scheme would come into force on April-1.

Former ICICI Bank chief executive Chanda Kochhar has hired services of securities law expert Somasekhar Sundaresan to launch a-defence against charges that she violated bank's code-of-conduct and clawback of financial-benefits she is entitled to in her nine-years at bank's helm. The Srikrishna Committee has found Kochhar to be in violation of ICICI code of conduct in dealing with conflict of interest and fiduciary duties.

In his latest-role, he headed an-enquiry-panel that indicted former ICICI Bank CEO Chanda Kochhar for violating the bank's Code of Conduct, its framework for dealing with conflict of interest and fiduciary duties, and in terms of applicable Indian laws, rules and regulations.

In internal probe conducted by the ICICI Bank has faulted its former CEO and managing director Chanda Kochhar for violating the bank's code of conduct. The probe, which was in connection to the ICICI-Videocon loan case, found that Chanda Kochhar failed to deal with conflict of interest by not making voluntary disclosures that she should have.

Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram Sunday slammed the CBI for "indiscriminately targeting" some of the bankers, saying the agency has received "ultimate certificate" on its action from Union minister Arun Jaitley, who had criticised it. "The CBI has received the ultimate certificate from the one who has the best ring-side seat, the Finance Minister (on leave): 'Adventurism and megalomania have overtaken investigators'!," he said.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe against former ICICI Bank CEO and MD Chanda Kochhar has revealed that she received "illegal gratification" through her husband Deepak Kochhar for favouring Videocon group. Being the head of ICICI Bank, CBI says, Chanda Kochhar approved six loans to Venugopal N Dhoot's Videocon group between June 2009 and October 2011.
