European-Union-countries voted in favor of provisional measures proposed by the European-Commission to curb steel imports into the bloc, following a U.S. decision to slap tariffs on EU steel and aluminum. The Commission has proposed a combination of a quota and a tariff to prevent a surge of steel imports that is threatened, notably after the United States imposed levies on incoming steel and aluminum.

U.S. stocks ticked higher on Thursday on signs that Washington may dial back on plans for tariffs on European-cars, soothing some worries about trade even as China looked set to face U.S-tariffs. Technology stocks led the gains, with chipmakers-Qualcomm, Micron and Qorvo among the top gainers. Micron said a temporary ban on some sales in China would hurt its quarterly revenue by just 1%.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India on Tuesday enforced its tariff order, interconnection regulations, and quality of service (QoS) norms for the TV broadcasting sector. The sector regulator is of the view that implementation of the new regulatory framework will bring in more transparency in the broadcast sector and will also enable provisioning of affordable broadcasting and cable TV services for the consumer.
