How are gilt funds taxed?

By IndianMoney , 8 months ago

If the holding period of your Gilt funds is more than 3 years then the capital gains will be treated as long-term capital gains and will be taxed at 20% after indexation. Similarly, if the holding period is less than 3 years, capital gains will be treated as Short term capital gains and will be taxed as per normal income slabs.
