What is Kisan vikas patra?

Kisan Vikas Patra is a saving scheme introduced by Indian post office in 1988, especially for the farming community. It is a certificate which will double one time investments within a period of 113 months. Eg: if you purchase a certificate worth Rs 1000 now, post maturity you will receive Rs 2000.
